Candidate Statement:
(In response to the question, "Please explain why you believe you are qualified for the judicial position for which you are
seeking election.")
My judicial philosophy is that a judge should ensure the safety of the community, which not only extends to victims, but also to defendants. I also believe that judges need to be fair, consistent, and empathetic. Finally, I feel that judges need to understand the resources available within the community to ensure the community’s safety, while being fair, consistent, and empathetic to those who appear in their courtroom. As a sitting Domestic Relations judge, I am using my unique experience as someone who has practiced on both sides and served as a Staff Attorney in Domestic Relations to implement my judicial philosophy every day.
