Candidate Statement:
(In response to the question, "Please explain why you believe you are qualified for the judicial position for which you are
seeking election.")
I will bring a wealth of experience to the Court of Appeals. I began my career as a prosecutor in a small county, which gave me the opportunity to handle a great number of legal matters, including felony, misdemeanor, juvenile delinquency and appellate actions, as well as various civil matters for a multitude of county governmental entities. For roughly the last 24 years, I have been engaged in the private practice of law in Columbus, which has allowed me to represent individuals in hundreds of legal matters, ranging from wrongful death actions to criminal defense matters. I have also argued numerous appellate cases, including before many of the appellate districts in Ohio, the Ohio Supreme Court, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
