Candidate Statement:

(In response to the question, "Please explain why you believe you are qualified for the judicial position for which you are seeking election.")

Experience. I bring more than 39 years of legal experience to the bench. Following law school, I spent 22 years in private practice. My practice involved representing clients from all economic and cultural backgrounds in all areas of the law including civil, domestic, and criminal matters.

During my time in private practice, I recognized the importance of having good, experienced judges on the bench, and decided to run for the position. On January 1, 2005, I began my life-long dream as judge on the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas bench. As a judge, I have handled a wide variety of cases, including high profile criminal and civil cases, large class action suits, aggravated murder cases with death-specifications, and commercial docket cases. I also serve on the Criminal Law and Personnel committees at the Court of Common Pleas as well as Visiting Judge in the Franklin County Municipal and Probate Courts.

On the bench, I have had the opportunity to positively impact the daily lives of Franklin County residents often on the worst days of their lives. I enjoy waking up and being able to truly make a difference in our community and that is why I am running again, for the last time, for Franklin County Common Pleas Judge.
